It is very difficult for a young child to understand that when someone goes away for a night or two that they will in fact return. This concept of something being out of sight and then returning is difficult for many children to grasp. Let you child have a ‘wallet’, like dad keeps a wallet with pictures of the child, the child can have a wallet with pictures of dad.
